The Challenge:
Hyundai Glovis, a global logistics leader under Hyundai Motor Group, operates high-throughput AGV fleets across advanced manufacturing and fulfillment environments. Like many operators, they faced mounting efficiency losses caused by routine charging downtime, oversized fleets, and floor space lost to static charging infrastructure.
The Solution:
To address these constraints, Hyundai Glovis partnered with CaPow to test Genesis – a Power-in-Motion energy platform that delivers wireless energy to AGVs while they move, without requiring stops, route changes, or dedicated charging stations.
Two robot clusters were compared side by side: one using traditional charging methods, the other fully CaPowered with modular energy pads placed along the robots’ natural operational routes.
”The success of this PoC demonstrates how CaPow's solution breaks operational efficiency barriers and allows operators to tap into unlocked potential.”
The Results:
The traditionally powered cluster showed consistent charging interruptions during each 8-hour shift, reducing fleet availability and overall efficiency. In contrast, the CaPow-enabled robots maintained full operation throughout – no charging delays, no added hardware, and no extra coordination required.
The Results:
15% increase in operational efficiency by eliminating charging downtime
100% of the robot fleet stays active – no idle units due to charging
No need for charging zones, freeing up workflow and improving layout flexibility
Zero time lost to detours or return trips for charging
Genesis was installed without changes to robot design or facility infrastructure. The success of the pilot validated Power-in-Motion as a scalable, low-friction energy solution for high-demand operations.
CaPow is pioneering energy transfer solutions with its Genesis platform, ensuring 100% uptime for automated fleets.
